The Seven Views
Outline, Table, Board, Timeline, Calendar, Lookahead and Workload — what each view is for, what you can change from it, and the toolbar they all share.
There is one breakdown. The seven views are seven readings of it, and every one of them shows the same items, the same statuses and the same dates. Switching views changes what you can see and what you can do in one gesture — it never changes what is stored.
The view you are on is written into the address bar, so a link opens on the view you sent it on. An address with a view PleoStack does not recognise falls back to the Outline rather than showing you a blank page.
Outline
The default. The breakdown as a tree, with indent guides, WBS codes and expand-and-collapse. This is the view to shape the plan in.
Drag a row to reorder it or to move it under a different parent. The row's actions menu carries Move to…, Indent, Outdent, Zoom in, Rename and Open, and the same actions have keyboard shortcuts:
| Key | Does |
|---|---|
| ↑ ↓ | Move between rows |
| → ← | Expand or step in / collapse or step to the parent |
| Tab / Shift+Tab | Indent / Outdent |
| Space | Open the peek panel |
| Enter | Rename in place |
| z / Z | Zoom into this row / zoom back out |
| m | Move to… |
| o | Open the item's full page |
| x and Shift+↑ ↓ | Select a row, extend the selection |
Where Duplicate, Set baseline and Delete are on the Outline
They are not on the row's menu — that menu is about position in the breakdown. Press Space to open the peek panel and use the actions menu at the top of it.
Table
The same items as a spreadsheet grid, with a filter on each column header and inline editing in the cells. Use it for bulk correction — fixing a run of dates, reassigning a batch of tasks, adding priorities after the fact.
The columns are Item, WBS, Type, Status, Assignee, Priority, Progress, Start, Finish, Baseline, Est. hrs and Tags. Assignee, Priority, Start, Finish, Est. hrs and Tags edit in the cell. Status is changed with its chip, the way it is everywhere else, so a guarded move still behaves like one.
Each parent's children end with a ghost New item row, so you can enter a run of items without opening a dialog. The row's actions are pinned in a column at the right edge, so they stay reachable when the grid scrolls sideways.
Two ways to filter, kept apart
The per-column filters in the Table's headers are separate from the toolbar's filters. Clear all in the toolbar clears the toolbar's filters, not the column ones.
Board
Columns by status, one card per item — every item, not just the phases. Drag a card between columns to change its status, and the same workflow rules apply as everywhere else: an illegal move is refused and the card springs back to where the server still has it.
The columns are scoped to the statuses the visible items can actually reach, so a board of subtasks does not show you the QC columns a task would use.
| Board control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Card density | Compact cards, Standard cards or Cards with covers |
| Group menu | Adds swimlanes; grouping by status is not offered, because the columns already are the statuses |
| Quick add | Adds an item straight into a column's cell |
Dragging a card between swimlanes is refused — swimlanes are the grouping, not the breakdown. Move an item in the breakdown from the Outline.
Timeline
The Gantt. Bars for every item that carries dates, dependency lines between them, float, the critical path, a Today marker and the baseline drawn underneath the live bar. Scroll to today brings the axis back, and the axis reads either Dates or Weeks.
Timeline edits are staged, not saved as you go. Drag a bar to move it, or an edge to resize it, and the change goes into a Review changes tray at the foot of the view, with a badge counting the edits waiting in it. A bar carrying a staged edit is drawn with a dashed outline until it is committed. Hold Ctrl or Cmd while dragging to move a parent without taking its children with it.
Nothing is written until you click Apply all; Discard all throws the whole set away. The tray lists the staged edits one per row — a change your drag knocked on to another item is indented under the edit that caused it — and each row has its own Apply and Discard, so you can commit part of a set and drop the rest. The Review changes header collapses the list back to the summary bar.
Float assumes a five-day week
Float and the critical path are calculated on a Monday-to-Friday working week. Site holidays and a six-day week are not taken into account, so read float as optimistic if your site does not run Monday to Friday.
Calendar
Month, Week or Agenda. Items span the days they run across, and the week starts on Monday. Drag a chip to move an item, or drag its edge to change one date.
Unlike the Timeline, the Calendar saves as you drag — there is no review tray to confirm.
Lookahead
The next few days as a day strip, defaulting to a seven-day window. This is the view for the weekly site meeting: what is starting, what is running, what is blocking what. Previous window, Next window and Go to today move it, and Look ahead sets the length.
Each row shows its relations — Blocked by, Blocks, Related — and marks anything On critical path. Press Space on a row for the peek panel, which is where you change a status or add a sub-item without leaving the meeting.
Workload
One row per project member, showing effort allocated against their capacity for the period.
| Column | Shows |
|---|---|
| Assignee | The project member |
| Allocated | Effort from the items assigned to them in this period |
| Capacity | Their working day across the period |
| Utilisation | Allocated against capacity, flagged Over capacity, At capacity or Under capacity |
Only the bottom of the tree is counted. A parent's effort is its children's, so counting both would double the same work. Clicking a row opens the item's full page.
The Shared Toolbar
The toolbar sits above all seven views and applies to whichever one you are on.
| Control | What it offers |
|---|---|
| Search | Matches title and WBS code — nothing else |
| Filter | Title, Status, Type, Priority, Assignee, Phase, Tags, Start, Finish, Progress and Estimated hours, combined with AND or OR, cleared with Clear all |
| Group | Group by and Then by, on Status, Type, Priority, Assignee or Phase; No grouping (manual order) turns it off |
| Sort | Several rules at once, each ascending or descending, each removable |
| Display | Row height (Short, Medium, Tall, Extra tall), toggles for Outline numbers, Sub-items, Empty groups, Baseline, Critical path and Dependencies, and — on Timeline and Workload — Timeline scale (Day, Week, Month, Quarter or Year) |
At phone width the filters collapse into a Filter button with a count, which opens a drawer with Clear all and Show results. All seven view buttons stay, as icons.
When a View Is Empty
The page distinguishes three situations, and the action it offers tells you which one you are in.
| What you see | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Nothing here yet | There is no work in this project, or none under the row you zoomed into | Use the create button offered — Create the first phase on an empty project |
| No items match these filters | The items exist, your filters are hiding them | Clear filters — there is deliberately no create button here |
| Couldn't load this view | The request did not come back. Nothing has been changed | Retry |
Timeline, Calendar, Lookahead and Workload stay blank until items carry dates. Workload additionally needs estimated hours and an assignee.
