Safety Hub — Overview

The safety console — a KPI strip, a needs-attention feed, quick actions, and the 8-week incident trend, all scoped to your project.

The Safety Hub is a fixed, purpose-built console — not a customisable widget grid. It answers one question the moment you open it: what needs my attention right now?

Safety is in beta

The Safety Hub is part of the Safety module, which is in beta — in production and usable, but not yet part of a versioned release of its own.

The Safety Hub — KPIs, a needs-attention feed, quick actions, and the incident trend

The KPI Strip

Four at-a-glance numbers across the top:

KPIWhat It CountsTone
Open incidentsIncidents that aren't closedBad when above zero
Active permitsCurrently active permits (with overdue flagged)Neutral / attention
Talks this weekToolbox talks delivered since Monday of this weekGood
Open walk findingsSafety issues raised from walk observations that aren't closedAttention

The Needs-Attention Feed

The heart of the Hub. It groups the things you should act on by urgency:

  • Critical — open incidents
  • Warning — permits expiring soon (with the exact time), open walk findings
  • Info — permits pending approval, talks awaiting sign-off

Every row is a link — an expiring permit opens that permit, and the other rows open their list. When there's nothing outstanding, the feed shows an "All clear" message.

Work top-down

The feed is ordered by urgency. Clearing it top-to-bottom means you always handle the highest-risk items first.

Quick Actions

A row of one-tap capture buttons — Log talk, Start walk, Request permit, Report incident — each opens the matching capture flow with the form already open. There's also a link to permit Templates (Admin → Safety → Templates, which needs full Safety access).

The Incident Trend

An 8-week line chart of incident counts, so you can see whether things are trending up or down. If there were no incidents in the window, it shows a "no incidents recorded" note.

On a Phone

The mobile Hub keeps the KPI strip and quick actions and adds a set of section chips (Toolbox Talks, Safety Walks, Permits, Incidents) so you can jump into any list with one tap.

Questions

Why doesn't Active permits match the Permits list?

Active permits counts live permits, including those in their last 24 hours, plus expired ones nobody has closed yet.

Why isn't the talk I just logged counted in Talks this week?

Talks this week counts talks delivered since Monday. A talk counts once someone presses Deliver & submit, not when it's first saved as a draft.

Why can't I open the Templates link?

Permit templates sit under Admin, and opening them needs full Safety access in your role. Ask your project owner if you need it.
