Getting Started: Your First Day
From your invitation email to your first day in PleoStack Construction: open your project, find your way around it and get help on any page.
PleoStack Construction is invite-only: an administrator at your company adds you, and PleoStack emails you an invitation. This guide takes you from that email to finding your way around your project, and shows where to start for the work you do.
- Open the invitation email and select Accept invitation. It signs you in; if you are new, you choose a password next
- Select Projects in the sidebar and open your project
- Find your way around — every part of the project is in the sidebar
- Get help with the ? at the top of the page you are on
- Set up your account — your name and phone number under Profile, and your notifications
Accept your invitation
Open the invitation email
It names your company, and usually who invited you and the role you have been given. Select Accept invitation.
You are signed in straight away
Opening the link accepts the invitation and signs you in. There is no separate screen to accept or decline.
Choose a password, if you are new
If you have never used PleoStack before, you land on Create your password. Use at least 8 characters, with an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter, a number and a special character, then select Create password and continue. You are taken straight into the app.
The link works once
The invitation link can be used once, and it stays open for 7 days. If it has expired, ask the person who invited you to send a new one — the new link works straight away. If you have already used it, sign in as usual.
Next time, sign in with your work email and password. See Signing In.
Where you land
After you sign in you land on the Portfolio Dashboard, your organization's overview. Each project also has its own Dashboard. See Dashboard for what each one shows.
Until you dismiss it, a welcome card at the top of your dashboards links to this guide. Once you select Dismiss, it stays hidden on every device you use. The guide is still in the help, under Start Here.
Open your project
Select Projects in the sidebar
It shows the projects you are a member of. Joining the organization does not put you on its projects — someone adds you to each project you work on.
Select a project card
The project opens on its Dashboard, and its name is at the top of the sidebar. To move to another project, select that name and pick one from the list.
If Projects shows No projects yet, ask your administrator to add you to your project.
Find your way around a project
Everything for the project is in the sidebar. Each page has its own guide:
| Page | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Dashboard | How the project stands, at a glance |
| WBS | The work breakdown: phases, activities and tasks, numbered and scheduled |
| Inspections | Quality inspections run against checklist templates |
| Issues | Snags and defects, from raised to closed |
| RFIs (beta) | Formal questions on the project and their official answers |
| Documents | Drawings, specifications and certificates, filed in folders |
| Resources | Materials, deliveries and vendors |
| Approved Materials | The materials approved for the project |
| Safety (beta) | Toolbox talks, safety walks, permits to work and incidents |
| Daily Log | The daily record from site |
| Reports | Built-in analytics reports and client reports |
What you can do on each page depends on the role your company gave you. The Admin section of the sidebar appears only for roles that include it, and most Settings pages open only for those roles.
Get help
Select the ? at the top of the page you are on. The help panel opens with help written for that page, and links to the full guides here on pleostack.com. This guide is in there too, under Start Here.
Set up your account
- Profile — open the menu with your name at the bottom of the sidebar and choose Profile. Add your full name and phone number, then select Save Changes. See Your Profile.
- Notifications — inside a project, choose Settings from the same menu, then Notifications, to choose which notifications reach you, in the app, by email or as push. See Notification Preferences.
- Appearance — the same menu offers Light, Dark and System.

Setting up your company
PleoStack sets up your organization for you; there is no sign-up form. If you are the person getting your company started, these are yours to do, at a computer. Each needs a role that includes it.
- Create your projects. Select Projects, then New Project. Only the project name is required; the rest can wait. See Projects.
- Invite your team. Open Members & Roles under Admin and select Add member. Each person gets an invitation email. Once they have accepted it, add them to the projects they work on. See Members & Roles.
- Review your inspection templates. Your organization starts with a construction starter set of checklist templates, and no collections. Adapt them, add your own and group them into collections. See Building Templates.
- Check the roles. Your organization starts with a set of roles. Change them to fit how your teams work. See Roles and permissions.
