Uploading & Removing Files

Add files by picking them or dragging them in, open what is filed, and remove what should not be there.

Everything in the library got there because somebody uploaded it here. This page covers putting files in, opening them, and taking them out.

Uploading Files

1

Open the folder the files belong in

A file lands in whichever folder is open when it goes up, and it cannot be moved afterwards — so select the folder first. Uploading from General files the documents at the library root.

2

Add the files

Click Upload in the toolbar and pick one or more files, or drag them straight from your desktop onto the list. The whole panel is a drop target: while you drag, it shows Drop files to upload. In an empty folder the dashed Drag & drop files here panel does the same job, and clicking it opens the file picker.

3

Watch them land

Each file appears immediately as its own dimmed row: a spinner where the thumbnail will go, and the line Uploading… where the size and date will go. The file name is not clickable until the upload finishes, at which point the row settles into a normal one — thumbnail or type icon, size, date. Each file goes up on its own, so one that fails does not affect the others.

What is accepted

Any file type, up to 25 MB per file. Drawings, PDFs, photos, spreadsheets, scans — the library does not restrict formats. A file over the limit is rejected, and a message names the file that did not make it; the others carry on.

Uploading the same document again adds a second file rather than replacing the first — there are no versions here — so put the revision in the file name and remove the superseded copy if you do not want both.

Opening a File

Click the file name in the list.

  • An image opens in a preview over the library. Close it with the control in the top right.
  • Anything else — a PDF, a drawing, a spreadsheet — opens in a new browser tab, and your browser handles it from there.

The preview scales the image down to fit the dialog rather than showing it at its original size, and there is no zoom — so it is a quick look, not a way to read fine print on a scanned drawing.

The small square at the start of each row is a thumbnail for images, and a coloured type icon for everything else.

Removing a File

Hover the row and click the trash icon on the right, then confirm in Remove this file?. The dialog says it plainly: the file is removed for everyone on this project, and cannot be brought back.

There is no recycle bin — removing is final
