Manpower Reports
From the crew on today's daily log to a manpower summary in the client's hands, by trade and by company, over any period.
Manpower in PleoStack starts on the daily log. Each day's log records who was on site, by company and trade. Those rows feed the headcount widgets on your portfolio dashboard and the Manpower section of every client report, where they are totalled over the report's period.
- Daily Log → New Log — add one Manpower row per company and trade, with headcount and hours
- Submit the log, and get it approved if the project requires approval — drafts and logs awaiting approval don't count in client reports
- On the portfolio dashboard, add Manpower On Site and Manpower by Project for today's picture
- Reports → Client Reports → New Report — pick Monthly, Weekly or Custom Range for the period you want
- Keep the Manpower section switched on; Detailed adds the full trade list and the day-by-day attendance
- Mark as Final, then Preview → Share for a link, or Export for a PDF
Before You Begin
Prerequisites
- Open a project first. Daily logs and client reports belong to a project.
- A client report counts approved daily logs only, or submitted ones on a project that does not require approval. Drafts and logs waiting for review are left out.
- The dashboard widgets are on the Portfolio Dashboard (organisation level), not inside a project.
Step by Step
Record the crew on the daily log
Open Daily Log and click New Log, or open today's draft. In the Manpower section ("Workers on site by company and trade") click Add once for each company and trade on site that day, and fill in:
- Company — the contractor or your own firm
- Trade — for example formwork carpenters or bar benders
- Headcount — how many people from that company and trade were on site
- Hours — the total hours they worked between them
- Notes — optional
Use the same spelling for a company or trade every day. The client report groups rows by the exact text, so "Bar benders" and "Bar Benders" count as two trades.
Submit and approve the log
Save Draft, then Submit. Someone other than you approves it from the Daily Reports tab. The register shows each log's total headcount in the Crew column, so you can scan the crew size day by day and filter the list by a date range.
Watch headcount on the portfolio dashboard
Two widgets show crew numbers across your projects. On the Portfolio Dashboard, click Edit, then Add Widget, and switch them on under Manpower:
- Manpower On Site — one figure: the headcount on each active project's latest daily log from the last 30 days, added together
- Manpower by Project — a bar for each project, showing its latest daily log's headcount
Both read the latest log on each project, whatever its status. They show today's picture, not a total over a period. For a period, use a client report (next step).
Start a client report for the period you want
Go to Reports, open the Client Reports tab and click New Report. Report Type sets the period: Monthly and Weekly calculate the end date for you; Custom Range lets you pick both dates, so you can cover a fortnight, a quarter or the whole job so far. Create Report opens the composer with every section switched on, Manpower among them.
Check the Manpower section
The Manpower section adds up every counted log in the period:
| Figure | What it counts |
|---|---|
| Worker-days | Every day's headcount added together, so 20 people on each of 5 days shows as 100. It counts worker-days, not different people. |
| Total Hours | The hours on every row, added together |
| Daily Average | Worker-days divided by Working Days: the people on site on a typical day |
| Working Days | The number of counted daily logs in the period |
| Peak Day | The highest single-day headcount |
Below the figures: a donut of trades, the Daily Headcount Trend chart, and the Trade Breakdown with worker-days and hours per trade, largest first. At Standard detail the Trade Breakdown lists the six largest trades and a Company Breakdown follows it. Set the section to Detailed to list every trade and add the Daily Attendance log, one line per day. In the composer, expand the section to switch any of these parts off or to write Comments for the client.
Send it to the client
Mark as Final, then open Preview and click Share. Set an expiry, add a password if you want one, and click Create Link. The client needs no PleoStack account. For a file instead, the Export tab in the same dialog prints the report or saves it as a PDF. Once it has gone, press Mark as Sent to record the delivery. Sharing a Report covers every option.
Good to Know
- Manpower by trade over any period is the client report. There is no separate manpower export or spreadsheet download. To see manpower by trade or company for a date range, create a Custom Range client report for those dates; you don't have to send it.
- Only finished logs count — approved, or submitted where the project doesn't require approval. A day whose log is still a draft or waiting for approval is missing from the totals and from Working Days.
- The dashboard shows the latest day only. Its figures change as each new log is filed.
Questions
Why is Worker-days so much bigger than my crew?
It adds up every day's headcount across the period. A crew of 150 on site for 27 days shows about 4,000. For a typical day, read Daily Average; for the busiest day, Peak Day.
Can I download manpower as a spreadsheet?
No. Daily logs and the client report's manpower figures have no CSV download. The closest is a client report for the dates you need, which you can print or save as a PDF from Share → Export.
Why is one day missing from the headcount trend?
Its daily log hasn't been approved yet, or it hasn't been filed. Only approved logs count (or submitted ones, if the project doesn't require approval).
