Organization Settings

Your organization's name, company profile and the defaults new projects start from.

Settings → Organization → General holds the details that belong to your whole organization rather than to one project.

What's on the page

SectionFields
GeneralOrganization Name. The Organization Code is shown but cannot be changed after creation
Company ProfileLegal Name, Phone, Website, and an address: Street, City, State / Province, Postal Code, Country (ISO Code). The country is a two-letter code, such as GB or IN
Org DefaultsCurrency, Timezone

Org Defaults are starting values for new projects

A project created from now on starts with the Timezone and Currency set here; each project can change its own in Project Settings. Changing the defaults does not alter a project that already exists.

Editing and saving

  1. Change any field. The bar at the bottom of the page shows that you have unsaved changes.
  2. Click Save changes. A confirmation appears when the save reaches the server. If it fails, you see the reason and the form goes back to the last saved values, so make your changes again.
  3. Click Reset to go back to the last saved values.

Only people whose role lets them manage the organization can open this page and save changes to it.

Questions

Why do I get an error when I save?

The message says why. Usually a field isn't in the form the app expects, such as a Website that doesn't start with http:// or https://, or a country that isn't a two-letter code. Correct it and save again. Anyone whose role lets them manage the organization can save this page.

If I change the currency, are amounts converted?

No. Org Defaults only set the starting currency and timezone of projects created afterwards. Existing projects keep theirs, and no amount is converted anywhere.

Can I change the Organization Code?

No. It's fixed when the organization is created. The Organization Name can be changed at any time.
