Project Settings

One project's name, status, WBS separator, timezone and currency, daily log approval, project profile, and deleting the project.

Settings → Project → General holds the configuration for the project you are in. Change any field, then click Save changes in the bar at the bottom, or Reset to go back to the saved values.

What's on the page

Two checks run when you save: Planned Completion cannot be before Planned Start, and a site location needs both a Latitude and a Longitude.

Workflow settings

Daily Log Approval Required decides what happens when someone submits a daily log:

  • On: the log waits for an approver, who approves it or returns it for changes. Only approved logs go into client reports.
  • Off: there is no approval step. A submitted log is final: it stays Submitted, nobody approves or returns it, and it goes into client reports as it is.

The setting applies to each log as it is submitted, so changing it usually leaves logs already submitted as they were. Each log's page says which applies: it is either final and read-only, or pending review.

Deleting a project

Danger Zone → Delete Project permanently deletes the project and everything recorded against it: WBS items, inspections, daily logs, issues, materials and documents. It cannot be undone. To confirm, type the project's name, then click Delete permanently.

If you may need the records later, archive the project instead, from Organization → Projects.

Only people whose role allows changing project settings can open this page.

Questions

If I change the WBS separator, do the existing codes change?

Yes, straight away. Saving a new separator renumbers every existing code in the project, so 1.3.7 becomes 1-3-7, and new items use it too.

Does changing the currency convert the contract value?

No. The figure stays as typed; only the currency it's shown in changes.

Who can delete the project?

People whose role allows deleting projects. The Danger Zone with Delete Project only shows for them; everyone else who can open this page doesn't see it.
